SISKHome Vault
Every spec, part number, paint code, and maintenance record for your home and vehicles – in one place on your device. The stuff you always need and can never find, finally organized.
The Info You Need Is Never Where You Are
You need the oil filter number for your truck. The model sticker is in the garage. You’re at AutoZone. You guess wrong and make a second trip.
You need a quart of touch-up paint for the hallway. The can is empty, the label is gone, and you have no idea what color it was or where you bought it.
When did you last change the furnace filter? Replace the water heater anode rod? Change the oil? You know it’s been a while. You just don’t know how long.
Specs in a notes app, manuals in a drawer, photos in a camera roll, receipts in email. Nothing is together, nothing is searchable, and half of it is lost.
Home and Auto. Everything in Its Place.
HomeVault is split into two top-level tabs – one for your property, one for your vehicles. Each is organized into categories with expandable item cards.
- Appliances & Equipment
- Rooms & Floors
- Exterior
- Systems & Utilities
- Maintenance Log
- Other
- One card per vehicle
- Same expandable structure as Home
- Oil filter, tire size, registration, insurance
- Full maintenance log per vehicle
- Copy-on-tap for part numbers at the counter
Every Detail You’ll Ever Need
Each item in HomeVault is a flexible container. No rigid schema – you build the fields that make sense for that item.
Add, remove, and rename any field. Text fields copy to clipboard on tap. Date fields show elapsed time with color-coded badges.
Capture from camera or upload from files. Stored on the item. Tap any photo for a full-screen lightbox view. Perfect for appliance tags and model stickers.
Freeform text for location tips, quirks, and gotchas. Where is the shutoff valve? What’s the trick to the garage door? Put it here.
Date-stamped entries in reverse chronological order. Add a record every time you service something. Delete individual entries. Always know what was done and when.
Built for Real-World Use
Every feature in HomeVault exists because someone needed it standing in a hardware store, under a sink, or on the phone with a contractor.
Tap the copy icon next to any text field and the value goes straight to your clipboard. Useful standing at the parts counter looking up an oil filter number or a paint code.
Date fields automatically calculate and display how long ago – color coded green (recent), amber (getting old), and red (overdue). Last oil change, last filter swap, registration expiry.
The search tab searches every item in every category simultaneously – names, field labels, field values, and notes. Tap any result to jump directly to that item.
No rigid schema. The add/edit modal lets you build whatever fields make sense for that item. Templates pre-populate sensible starting fields per category, but you can add, remove, or rename anything.
Items are collapsed by default showing just the name and first field value as a subtitle. Tap to expand the full detail view in place. Clean and scannable at a glance.
Every category ships with realistic placeholder entries – a Carrier furnace, a 2019 Ford F-150, paint codes, filter specs – so you immediately see how it’s meant to be used. Just tap Edit and overwrite with your own data.
Photos are stored directly in the app – no cloud, no external service. Ideal for photographing appliance tags, model stickers, and serial number plates so you always have them.
Export your entire vault to a named JSON file at any time. Restore from a backup to move to a new device or recover your data. No cloud account needed – your backup is just a file.
Up and Running in Minutes
HomeVault comes pre-loaded with sample data so you can see exactly how it works before you enter a single thing.
Open HomeVault in Chrome on any device. Tap the install prompt or use the browser menu to add it to your home screen or desktop. Done in one tap.
Open Settings and give your vault a name – your address, your family name, whatever makes sense. It shows in the top bar so you always know whose vault you’re in.
Tap any sample item to expand it, then tap Edit to overwrite it with your own specs. Or delete the samples and start fresh – whichever feels right.
Tap the + button in any category to add a new item. Pick a template for suggested fields or start blank. Add fields, photos, and notes as you go.

Common Questions
Everything you need to know before you install.
Yes, completely. No free tier with a paid upgrade, no in-app purchases, no subscription. HomeVault is a free tool, full stop.
Your data is stored in your browser’s local storage. If you uninstall the PWA or clear your browser data, it will be removed. Use the JSON export in Settings to back up before doing so – you can restore it at any time.
Yes. Install it on each device separately, then use the JSON export/import to sync your data between them. Export from one device, import on another – takes about 30 seconds.
As many as your browser’s local storage allows – typically 5-10MB, which is plenty for text fields and a reasonable number of photos. Photos are stored as compressed base64, so they’re smaller than the originals. If you hit a limit, the app will let you know.
The six Home categories and the vehicle structure are fixed, but within each category you can add unlimited items with completely custom fields. The “Other” category is a catch-all for anything that doesn’t fit neatly elsewhere – WiFi credentials, alarm codes, contractor contacts, whatever you need.
Yes. Open HomeVault in Safari on iOS, tap the Share button, and select “Add to Home Screen.” It installs and works offline just like on Android. Note: on iOS, PWA installation requires Safari specifically – Chrome on iOS does not support home screen installation.
